Bidding and Buying at Auctions Neapolitan
An auction is an exciting, viable resource where the novice and seasoned buyer can explore an unequaled selection of items at all price levels under one roof. Below, we have outlined each step to help make your experience more enjoyable.

Before the Auction

Preview - The preview affords you the opportunity to personally inspect each lot (item) coming up for auction. We encourage you to look, touch and ask questions. You are responsible for determining the condition of any item before bidding and we want you to be completely satisfied. If you are unable to attend our preview in person, please view our online catalogs. If you need additional information or clarification on the condition of any lot, contact us.

Decide on the amount you are willing to pay - Auctions can be very exciting. We don't want you to get caught up in the action and later regret your buying decision. It is a good idea to preview early so that you can take your time. If possible, research the item and get comparable prices. During the auction you will be amazed at the great prices so think gifts for the holidays, birthdays, a little something for that hard-to-buy-for friend or something extraordinary for your home!

Register to Bid. All buyers must be registered to bid and pertinent information must be supplied to establish identity and/or credit. You may register for our live auctions at the gallery and receive a bid paddle, or you may complete our online registration form and receive a bidding number. If you wish to participate by computer, you need to register on Ebay.

Read the Terms and Conditions of Sale which control the auction in all regards, are legally binding and are superceded only by announcements made by the Auctioneer at the time of the sale. The complete terms are posted in the gallery and are available by Clicking Here. Registering to bid or attending the auction indicates full understanding and acceptance of these terms along with the agreement to be so bound. We can not overemphasize the importance of reading this information.

During the Auction

Bidding in person at our Gallery or during an Onsite auction, the lots (items) will be brought from the viewing area to the podium and the Auctioneer begin the Chant and will call for an opening bid. Hold your paddle up high and make sure you are noticed. Other buyers may also be holding up paddles and the bid increments will go up accordingly. Keep raising your paddle until you reach your maximum. If the bidding passes the amount you feel comfortable spending, put your paddle down. If the competition stops and you are the final bidder, the item will be "hammered" or "Sold" to you. There are lots of stories about people touching their ear, or scratching their nose and ending up with items they didn't want. That won't happen to you at Auctions Neapolitan.

Absentee and Telephone Bidding : If you are unable to attend the auction in person but wish to participate, you may register and make an Absentee bid or you may arrange a Telephone bid (Proxy Bids). An Auctions Neapolitan representative will bid for you during the auction and will attempt to obtain the item at the lowest possible price. Absentee bid forms are available at our Gallery or you may use the Absentee or Telephone Bid forms available on our web site.

On-Line bidding - Our gallery auctions are broadcast live on Ebay. You can submit proxy bids through Ebay for at least a week before the actual auction. Even more amazing is that you can also bid from the comfort of your home or office at the SAME TIME that we are auctioning in the gallery! This amazing technology allows you to see digital images of each lot as they are brought to the Auctioneer's podium. A simple screen allows you to submit your bids during the auction and your bid is relayed to the Auctioneer. If you wish to participate using the computer you must be a member of the Ebay community and register through ebay for each auction.

After the auction

Settle your account: A 15% buyer's premium will be added to the hammer price of each item and the total constitutes the purchase price. You will also be responsible for applicable sales tax. All sales are final and subject to the Auction Terms and Conditions of Sale. Payment may be made with Cash, US Postal Money Orders, and Bank Wire Transfers and Pay Pal. If you are known to us or have a Credit Information Form on file with us, you may also use an electronically swiped MasterCard or Visa, Personal Checks or Business Checks.
